As of today, we have compiled a list of tips for those who are renting a car for the first time and don’t want to leave anything to chance.

Tips for Renting a Car for the First Timers on Pickup:

• Do research online for car options you might want to consider. At Orbit, we have sedans, SUVs, and many other options available so to choose the right one, you should have some knowledge beforehand. It will make your decision better and easier.
• Make sure you have your driver’s license and ID with you before you arrive at the counter.
• Read the Terms and Conditions thoroughly to understand all of your rights and responsibilities.
• Inspect the vehicle’s exterior, glass, and interior before getting in and driving off the lot. Take photos of any scratches or other damage you discover and request that the rental car company record it before you leave.
• Rental car reservations are guaranteed for the time you specify. If you pick up early or return late, the rate may change. If you are running late and cannot return the car by closing time, the staff will not keep the office open for you.

Tips for Renting a Car for the First Timers on Drop-off

• If the vehicle got damaged during the rental, the car company is going to require a Condition Change Report. Take photos so that you have proof of exactly how extensive the damage is.
• Ask for a receipt. Copy of the return receipt, whether printed or emailed, shows that the vehicle was returned on a specific date, time, odometer reading, and fuel level.
