Towell Group’s Orbit Car Rental & Lease has announced its partnership with the groundbreaking Oman 3165 Expedition, a first-of-its-kind exploratory and awareness initiative focused on highlighting the importance of ocean conservation along the Sultanate of Oman’s coastline.
As part of this collaboration, Orbit Car Rental & Lease is providing a fully equipped off-road SUV to support the expedition crew, covering all required maintenance expenses throughout the journey. This contribution reinforces Orbit’s ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, national pride, and supporting impactful community-driven initiatives.

The Oman 3165 Expedition embarks on an extraordinary 70-day journey, traveling from Musandam in the north to Dhalqut in the far south, tracing the full length of Oman’s stunning coastline. Led by renowned British explorer and MBE award recipient Mark Evans, the solo expedition will involve paddling approximately 30 kilometers per day in a 5-meter kayak inspired by traditional Inuit designs.
Throughout the journey, the expedition will function as a floating laboratory, collecting environmental data and marine samples using underwater listening devices (hydrophones) and other scientific tools. These findings will be analyzed by marine experts to contribute valuable insights into ocean health and conservation.
Beyond scientific exploration, the initiative aims to raise global awareness about the critical role oceans play in sustaining life on Earth. Through podcasts, social media updates, and satellite communications, the expedition will share real-time insights and inspire younger generations to become responsible “planetary caretakers.”
